The Ecoren International Below 1800 FIDE Rating Chess Tournament officially began on Saturday, November 22, at Maris Stella College in Vijayawada. The three-day event has registered 600 participants from various parts of the country. Dignitaries present at the inauguration included Dronacharya Award recipient Koneru Ashok and S. Bharani, vice-chairperson and managing director of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP), among other organizational representatives.
