Figure AI, a California-based startup, has unveiled its latest humanoid robot, Figure 03, which the company describes as a general-purpose model for everyday applications. According to Figure AI, Figure 03 features a redesigned sensory suite, an advanced hand system, and a next-generation vision system engineered for high-frequency visuomotor control. This vision system incorporates a new camera architecture that reportedly doubles frame rates, reduces latency by 75%, and provides a 60% wider field of view.
These hardware improvements, alongside an expanded depth of field, are intended to enable the robot to navigate and operate effectively in complex and cluttered environments, such as homes. An integrated palm camera also provides close-range visual feedback for grasping objects, assisting operation in confined spaces. Figure AI states that Figure 03 is capable of continuous learning from human interaction, utilizing its proprietary AI system, Helix, to execute actions in real-time without requiring pre-scripted commands. The robot stands 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 61 kilograms.
