Four individuals, identified as two men and two women, died in the Pas-de-Calais region following an incident during an English Channel crossing attempt. According to statements from the Pas-de-Calais prefecture, the fatalities occurred after the individuals attempted to board a water taxi and were subsequently swept away by strong currents.
The prefecture has indicated that the reported death toll remains provisional.
