Gitanjali Angmo, wife of the education reformer and activist Sonam Wangchuk, has formally requested the immediate release of her husband from multiple senior Indian government officials. She addressed her appeals to the President of India, the Prime Minister, the Home Minister, the Law Minister, and the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. In her communication, Angmo conveyed concerns regarding the circumstances of Wangchuk’s detention and highlighted a reported absence of communication since his arrest. She also stated that an initial First Information Report (FIR) had not been filed.
