Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) O P Singh recently convened with senior police officials and media representatives in South Haryana, advocating for a citizen-friendly approach in police interactions, particularly regarding alleged traffic and regulatory violations. Speaking at the Gurgaon Police Commissionerate, DGP Singh acknowledged issues such as delays in filing First Information Reports (FIRs) for certain offenses and instances of excessive vehicle checking, emphasizing the importance of implementing corrective measures.

The DGP also addressed the complexities of economic offenses, indicating a requirement for more specialized officers and increased manpower to effectively handle such cases. Additionally, he discussed accident prevention in the Gurgaon area, recognizing that nightlife and clubbing are significant aspects of the city's young demographic, and stated that "nightlife is also a way of life." He confirmed that Gurgaon police have issued notices to various clubs and restaurants under Section 168 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, which pertains to police powers to prevent cognizable offenses.
