Recent reports detail developments surrounding serious allegations made by Zubeen Garg’s bandmate, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, who is currently under arrest. In his ‘Detailed Grounds of Arrest’, Goswami alleges that Zubeen Garg was “poisoned” in Singapore, implicating manager Siddharth Sharma and festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta in a “conspiracy”. He claims the foreign venue was chosen to conceal their actions and that there was an intent to portray Garg’s death as accidental. Furthermore, Goswami stated that Sharma was heard saying “Jabo de, jabo de” (let him go, let him go) while Garg was in distress.
Responding to these allegations, Zubeen Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, asserted that if anyone is proven guilty of such a conspiracy, they should face “ultimate punishment”, underscoring the demand for “justice” for her husband. Following these claims, an SIT officer has recorded statements from Garima Saikia Garg and Zubeen Garg’s sister, Palmee. Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and co-singer Amritprava Mahanta have both been arrested in connection with the ongoing case.
