An event in Kalaburagi recently honored the legacy of Kittur Rani Chennamma, a historical figure recognized for her resistance against British rule. During the commemoration, MLC Tippannappa Kamakanur articulated that Chennamma's life and ideals serve as an enduring source of inspiration for women nationwide. Kalaburagi South MLA Allamprabhu Patil publicly committed to engaging with the State government regarding the installation of a statue dedicated to Rani Chennamma within the city. Patil further emphasized Chennamma's courage and heroism in the freedom struggle as a point of regional pride, indicating plans for government-organized programs to propagate her ideals among younger generations. The day's activities, inaugurated by Shashil Namoshi, included the garlanding of Chennamma's portrait, a procession, and various cultural presentations. A range of public officials and community representatives were present at the proceedings.
