Manchester Pride Charity Enters Liquidation Amidst Unpaid Fees

The charity behind Manchester Pride, recognized as one of the United Kingdom's largest LGBT events, has announced it has entered voluntary liquidation. This formal procedure for closing down an organization facing financial difficulties has led to numerous businesses and performers reporting thousands of pounds in unpaid fees.

The development places the future of the annual event in question. While comprehensive financial details are not yet publicly available, official records for 2023 showed the charity incurred a loss of approximately £468,000. During the same year, the organization distributed more than £105,000 in funding to various LGBT groups and organizations.

The union for entertainers, Equity, noted an increase in inquiries about outstanding payments after Manchester Pride indicated it was seeking legal and financial guidance on its future direction.
