Two security guards sustained serious injuries during an alleged stabbing incident on Monday, April 27, 2026, in the Mira Road area of Thane district, Maharashtra. Police officials indicated the attack is suspected to be religiously motivated. The accused, Zaib Zubair Ansari (31), who reportedly returned to India from the U.S. in 2019, was arrested approximately 90 minutes after the event. The State Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has subsequently taken over the investigation from local police authorities.
