Rabi Sowing Progress Reported in Yadgir District

Rabi season sowing has resumed in Yadgir district, with the Agriculture Department reporting significant progress towards its cultivation targets. As of the latest update, 27,647 hectares, which constitutes 55.39% of the targeted 49,909 hectares, have been sown. Officials anticipate that the full targeted area will be covered by the second week of December.

Among the principal crops, groundnut cultivation has reached 16,461 hectares (80.30% of its target), while jowar has been sown in 9,059 hectares (39.66% of its target). Bengal gram sowing stands at 1,723 hectares. This progress follows a kharif season impacted by heavy rains and floods, with farmers expressing hope for favorable rabi yields to mitigate previous losses. Sowing coverage varies across taluks, with Yadgir and Gurmitkal reporting higher percentages, and Surpur and Hunsagi showing lower figures.
