On Wednesday, the Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) apprehended two individuals and confiscated twelve red sanders logs. The arrests and seizure occurred at the Bhudanam toll plaza on the Tirupati-Naidupeta highway, during a vehicular check conducted under the direction of Task Force head L. Subbarayudu.
Authorities reported that a vehicle slowed upon approaching the law enforcement squad. When two occupants subsequently exited the car and attempted to flee, police personnel detained them. The twelve red sanders logs were then discovered concealed within the vehicle. The individuals arrested are reported to be from Vellore district in Tamil Nadu.
Following the seizure, Superintendent of Police (RSASTF) P. Srinivas oversaw the transfer of the confiscated logs to the RSASTF headquarters in Tirupati. Deputy Superintendent V. Srinivasa Reddy and Assistant Conservator of Forest J. Srinivas are conducting the interrogation of the arrested individuals.
