Members of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) were officially sworn in on Monday at Khumulwng, the council’s headquarters. This ceremony transpired amidst ongoing political exchanges between the ruling allies, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Tipra Motha. The BJP had previously petitioned Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, seeking action on alleged corruption cases during Tipra Motha’s administration. Concurrently, Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma informed the media that discussions regarding the implementation of the Tiprasa Accord would take place after May 4. He also noted plans for a courtesy meeting with the Governor and raised concerns about the viability of the tribal council’s initiatives due to a reported scarcity of required funds.
