Residents across more than 40 Sydney suburbs, particularly on the upper and lower north shores, have been advised to conserve water after a major water main break. The incident occurred early yesterday evening at the West Ryde pumping station, significantly reducing water transfers to the affected areas. Sydney Water Managing Director Darren Cleary clarified that while water supply is continuing, the break has complicated the distribution of water across the north shore.
