The advertisement featured former President Ronald Reagan speaking negatively about tariffs, which Mr. Trump claimed was "fake" and intended "to interfere with the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court" regarding a legal challenge to his tariffs. He also reiterated his view that "TARIFFS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO THE NATIONAL SECURITY, AND ECONOMY, OF THE U.S.A."
This development introduces new uncertainty into the relationship between the United States and its second-largest trading partner.
