Veteran Hindi and Marathi actress Sandhya Shantaram has died at the age of 94, reportedly due to age-related ailments. She was primarily known for her acting career exclusively within the films of legendary filmmaker V. Shantaram, whom she later married in 1956 as his third wife.

Discovered by V. Shantaram in 1951, reportedly for her voice’s similarity to his second wife, Jayashree, Sandhya’s debut was in his 1951 Marathi film Amar Bhoopali.
