A 30-year-old man, previously arrested in connection with the October 2 incident at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall, has been re-arrested at Manchester Airport.
According to Counter Terrorism Policing North West, the individual was taken into custody on suspicion of failing to disclose information, an offence contrary to Section 38B of the Terrorism Act 2000. This follows an earlier arrest on suspicion of commission, preparation, and instigation of acts of terrorism.
The attack outside the synagogue, which resulted in the deaths of two people, involved Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, driving a vehicle into pedestrians. Police confirm the re-arrested man has since been released on bail with conditions.
