Australian diplomatic and domestic news updates include the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Dfat) announcing that officials from its Tel Aviv embassy are providing consular assistance in Ketziot to Australians following the interception of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla by Israeli Defence Force (IDF) soldiers. The interception was reportedly filmed by a journalist.

In Sydney, New South Wales (NSW) police reported a fatal helicopter crash in the city’s south-west, where one man died at the scene despite paramedic efforts. Another individual, aged 19, is in critical condition. Authorities will prepare a report for the coroner.

Additionally, a large-scale police operation in south-west Sydney has concluded. Earlier, NSW police had denied an application for a planned protest, citing safety concerns as the reason for the refusal.
