Enumerators conducting a Social and Educational Survey in Bengaluru have reported encountering a range of technical and operational challenges. According to these enumerators, the survey application frequently freezes after Know Your Customer (KYC) checks, and location pins occasionally display incorrect positions. They also noted inconsistencies with daily survey targets, which reportedly fluctuate on the app.
Logistical hurdles include the need for enumerators to seek out various shops and households to charge their mobile devices. Many stated they have incurred additional personal expenses for daily data recharges and, in some instances, purchased power banks to continue their work.
Furthermore, enumerators have faced public resistance, with some households questioning their presence; one enumerator described being verbally dismissed. Officials have reportedly directed enumerators to document details of households that decline to participate in the survey.
