Two civic volunteers have been arrested in Gajol, Malda, West Bengal, in connection with the alleged disappearance of gold ornaments and a small piece of cloth from an idol of goddess Durga.
The incident took place at a local puja mandap, where the accused had been on security duty. The absence of the items was first noticed by the priest, leading to a review of the pandal’s CCTV footage. This footage allegedly implicated the civic volunteers in the incident.
Police are currently interrogating the arrested individuals as part of an ongoing investigation to recover the missing articles.
