Gaza Ceasefire: Hostage Exchange Plans, Aid Operations, and Regional Strikes Reported

A ceasefire has taken effect in the Gaza Strip, leading to several key developments. A plan is in place for Hamas to release living hostages within 72 hours, in exchange for Israel freeing 250 Palestinians serving long terms in Israeli prisons and 1,700 others detained during the conflict. Concurrently, the United Nations stated it received Israeli approval to commence scaled-up aid deliveries into Gaza starting Sunday, though Israeli officials have denied unspecified accusations. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that subsequent stages of the plan would include the disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of Gaza. Following the ceasefire, thousands of Palestinians began returning to their homes in northern Gaza, including areas like Sheikh Radwan. Separately, the Israeli army confirmed conducting strikes in Lebanon, which Lebanon’s official National News Agency reported targeted bulldozer and excavator yards.
