Recent Israeli military operations in Lebanon have prompted strong reactions from Iranian officials, who assert these actions constitute a "blatant violation" of the US-Iran ceasefire agreement. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the continuation of such strikes would undermine negotiations and emphasized Iran's solidarity with Lebanon, maintaining that both Iran and ceasefire mediator Pakistan consider Lebanon to be covered by the truce.
Following reports of over 200 fatalities from Israeli strikes in Lebanon, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam requested confirmation from his Pakistani counterpart regarding Lebanon's inclusion in the ceasefire terms. This position was reinforced by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, who affirmed Lebanon as an "inseparable part" of the agreement.
In a separate but related development, Mohammad Eslami, Iran's atomic energy chief, stated that international efforts to restrict Iran's uranium enrichment program would "not succeed."
