Mysuru District: Tiger Captured Following Reports of Conflict

Forest authorities in Sargur taluk, Mysuru district, have successfully captured a male tiger that was believed to be involved in incidents affecting both people and livestock over the past month. This situation led to heightened human-wildlife conflict in the region, prompting the temporary suspension of safari operations in the Bandipur and Nagarahole Tiger Reserves. The Forest Department launched an extensive search operation, deploying personnel from various reserves and ranges, supported by trained elephant teams. Officials have estimated the captured tiger's age to be between 12 and 13 years. In response to the ongoing concerns, precautionary measures have been implemented in villages reporting frequent tiger sightings, and search and rescue teams remain on continuous standby. While the capture has provided some relief, villagers have requested that forest teams maintain combing operations to ensure no other tigers are involved in recent incidents.
