A police officer accused of two murders told investigators he was not trying to evade them after the alleged incidents, a Sydney court has heard. Beau Lamarre-Condon, who has pleaded not guilty to murdering his ex-partner and another man, stated he would come to the police station the day after he made contact.

The court heard that police attempted to reach Lamarre-Condon for four days following the alleged murders before he surrendered. He then directed officers to a rural property where the bodies of the two men, both in their 20s, were discovered inside surfboard bags. Lamarre-Condon had told police he was not avoiding them and would attend the station the following day.

Evidence presented in the New South Wales supreme court trial included details of a message sent by a police colleague to Lamarre-Condon’s Instagram account. The colleague asked him to contact the crime manager at eastern suburbs as soon as possible. The message went unread, and the colleague later deleted it, feeling uncomfortable using personal social media for official matters.

The prosecution alleges Lamarre-Condon killed the men due to a jealous obsession, while the defence claims self-defence. Lamarre-Condon’s offer to plead guilty to manslaughter for one of the victims was not accepted by prosecutors. The trial is ongoing.
