The Green Party’s conference commenced today, coinciding with the party’s reported record high membership. Leader Zack Polanski is scheduled to address the conference, where he is expected to criticize the Labour Party. Polanski will reportedly characterize Labour as “handmaidens” to what he describes as the “dangerous,” “hateful,” and “divisive” politics of Reform UK.
In his speech, Polanski is also set to reiterate the Green Party’s commitment to increased investment in public services, which he proposes would be funded by a wealth tax. This financial strategy, according to Polanski, aims to reduce household bills, lower the cost of living, and strengthen the National Health Service (NHS). He plans to present this approach as a “politics of hope,” positioning it in direct contrast to what he terms Reform UK’s “politics of despair.”
