The Indian Coast Guard has commissioned the ICGS Adamya, the first vessel in a series of eight Adamya-class fast patrol vessels, at Paradip Port. This 51-meter vessel, designed and built by Goa Shipyard Limited, incorporates over 60% indigenous content. The Coast Guard states that this contributes to strengthening India’s maritime capabilities under the Make in India initiative.

Based at Paradip, the ship operates under the Commander, Coast Guard Region (North East) through District Headquarters No. 7 (Odisha), and is commanded by Commandant Anurag Pandey with a crew of 39 personnel. The Adamya displaces approximately 320 tonnes and is propelled by two 3,000 KW diesel engines, enabling a maximum speed of 28 knots and an endurance of 1,500 nautical miles at economical speed. It is also the first ICG ship to be fitted with indigenously developed Controllable Pitch Propellers and gearboxes, enhancing its maneuverability and operational performance.

Its weaponry includes a 30 mm CRN‑91 gun and two 12.7 mm stabilised remote‑controlled machine guns, all supported by fire‑control systems. The vessel further integrates an Integrated Bridge System, Integrated Platform Management System, and Automated Power Management System to augment operational efficiency and automation.
