An investor consortium, featuring Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), a firm managed by Jared Kushner, and Silver Lake Partners, has announced its intent to acquire video game developer Electronic Arts (EA). The transaction is valued at $55 billion, with EA stockholders slated to receive $210 per share.

This proposed acquisition represents the largest private equity-funded buyout in history, exceeding the 2007 TXU privatization. PIF, which holds a 9.9% stake as EA’s largest insider shareholder, plans to roll over its existing investment. The Saudi fund has actively engaged in the video gaming market since 2022, acquiring stakes in various publishers and companies, and has articulated intentions to expand its gaming arm, Savvy Gaming Group. The deal is projected to finalize in the first quarter of fiscal 2027.
