Recent military actions and diplomatic statements have been reported in the Middle East. The Israeli military announced it had initiated “broad-scale” strikes targeting locations in Tehran, Iran. Following these reports, Iran’s state broadcaster confirmed that explosions were heard in the western sector of its capital.
Earlier in the day, the Israeli military also indicated that it had detected a new series of Iranian missile launches directed towards Israel. In response to potential international involvement, Iran’s deputy foreign minister, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, delivered a warning to European nations via France 24. Takht-Ravanchi stated that any country that “joins America and Israel in the aggression against Iran” would subsequently be deemed “legitimate targets for Iran’s retaliation.”
