The 16th edition of the Calicut Half Marathon (CHM), organized by students of the Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K), is scheduled for February 8 at Kozhikode beach. The official press launch for the event took place on January 10, 2026, at the Calicut Press Club.
During the launch, the Calicut Marathon Committee unveiled the official website, logo, and jersey for the 16th edition. The marathon will include three distinct race categories: a 21-kilometer half marathon (timed), a 10-kilometer run (timed), and a 3-kilometer dream run (non-timed). Registration fees are set at ₹549 for the timed races and ₹299 for the 3-kilometer dream run, with a total cash prize pool of ₹4 lakh.
Attendees at the press launch included P. Nikhil, president of the Kozhikode District Sports Council; Anandakuttan B. Unnithan, dean (Programmes) at IIM-K; Rachappa Shette, chair of Student Affairs at IIM-K; and VKC Razak, managing director of India’s VKC. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM-K, issued a statement recognizing the student-led event as an example of leadership, social responsibility, and community engagement. India’s VKC is listed as a supporting partner for the marathon.
