The Kalaburagi City Police have announced the arrest of Shivakumar, a 35-year-old individual from Bengaluru, in connection with a robbery at a residence in the Vittal Nagar area. The incident, involving Gurubai Naglikar, occurred on May 6, 2025. Police Commissioner Sharnappa S. Dhage stated that the investigation, which utilized technical evidence and CCTV footage, led to the apprehension. The individual is reportedly sought in connection with approximately 40 cases, including robbery and murder, across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.

Authorities have recovered a gold chain valued at around ₹5 lakh. During interrogation, the individual reportedly confessed to selling gold bangles in Bengaluru. Police also noted the individual's alleged history of creating investigative obstacles and approaching the Human Rights Commission after arrests. His visits to Kalaburagi, reportedly to see in-laws in Aland taluk, are believed to have involved scouting localities.
