The Chief Minister of Punjab made several public statements addressing various state-related matters. Regarding a recent incident where a shoe was reportedly thrown at the Chief Justice of India, the Chief Minister attributed it to what he described as “venomous propaganda” by the “saffron party,” which he claimed was attempting to harm “weaker and underprivileged sections.”
He further affirmed the state government’s implementation of comprehensive security measures, stating that the Punjab Police are equipped to ensure public safety. Additionally, the Chief Minister advised the public to exercise caution during an upcoming festival, citing a historical increase in eye injury cases. He also offered best wishes to an individual embarking on a new political journey.
Addressing criticism concerning recent flood events, the Chief Minister characterized the incidents as a natural calamity and stated that the state government had submitted a detailed report on losses to the Central government. He affirmed ongoing state efforts to restore normalcy in affected districts and urged the Centre to release necessary funds. Concluding his remarks, the Chief Minister expressed sorrow over the passing of renowned singer Rajvir Jwanda and eminent sportsperson and bodybuilder Varinder Ghuman.
