Scores of Palestinian militants are reportedly present in parts of the Gaza Strip currently under Israeli military control, according to three anonymous Israeli security officials. These militants are said to be prevented from leaving safely by the military, raising concerns among mediators about potential inadvertent clashes and posing a challenge to the existing truce between Israel and Hamas. Israel's forces redeployed inside Gaza as part of an October ceasefire agreement, establishing control over approximately half of the enclave. Some of the militants are believed to be concealing themselves in tunnels beneath the southern city of Rafah. A source close to Hamas's leadership has affirmed the presence of militants beyond the Israeli withdrawal boundary, also known as the 'yellow line.' Hamas officials declined to comment on the situation.
