RJD President Lalu Prasad and his son, Tejashwi Yadav, traveled to Delhi on October 12, 2025. Their departure occurred amid ongoing discussions regarding seat allocation within the INDIA bloc for the upcoming Bihar elections. An unnamed aide close to the RJD chief stated that their visit was primarily for a court hearing scheduled for the following day, related to the land for jobs scam, a case from Prasad’s tenure as Railway Minister in a previous Congress-led UPA government. Concurrently, the RJD has publicly indicated its intention to contest at least half of the 243 seats in the state. The deadline for filing nomination papers for the first phase of the elections, covering 121 seats, is October 17, with polling scheduled for November 6, 2025.
