Bihar Elections: Campaign Intensification and Record Voter Turnout

The recent Bihar elections were marked by extensive campaigning from both the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Mahagathbandhan, culminating in a historic voter turnout of 67.13% recorded across two phases on November 6 and 11. Key political figures from both alliances engaged in vigorous outreach efforts.

For the Mahagathbandhan, Tejashwi was a particularly prominent campaigner, conducting 171 public meetings, at times up to 18 in a single day, making him the most visible leader. Rahul Gandhi held two joint rallies with Tejashwi, while Priyanka Gandhi Vadra conducted approximately 13 meetings independently, and Mallikarjun Kharge addressed around six rallies, focusing on Dalit and reserved constituencies. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, along with MPs Iqra Hasan and Afzal Ansari, also campaigned in support of RJD, Congress, and Left party candidates.

On the NDA side, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were significant campaigners. Chirag Paswan of the LJP (RV) demonstrated exceptional activity, leading all campaigners with a total of 173 meetings. The campaign period highlighted the strategic efforts of various political leaders to mobilize voters across the state.
