The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured victory in the recent Bihar Assembly elections. An examination of the electoral outcomes points to two key factors contributing to this success: a significant turnout and demonstrated support from female voters, whose participation often surpassed that of men in many constituencies, and the implementation of a detailed strategy for vote consolidation among alliance partners.
This strategic approach involved extensive efforts to ensure the transfer of votes across NDA constituents. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the party president, and a team led by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, played a central role. Their work focused on engaging with alliance workers and leaders, managing internal dissent, and facilitating a smooth flow of votes, which contributed to the strong performance of all allied parties. As a result, the BJP emerged as the single largest party in Bihar, a feat comparable to its 2010 electoral performance.
