Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat has suggested that individuals who are uncomfortable identifying as ‘Hindu’ may instead use the term ‘Bharatiya’. Speaking in New Delhi, Bhagwat also affirmed his view that India has historically been a “culturally ancient Hindu Rashtra.”
The RSS, an organization led by Bhagwat, was established in Nagpur on September 27, 1925, by physician Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.
