The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) recently launched a statewide protest campaign, which included a demonstration on January 10 in Mohali. The protest, held outside the District Administrative Complex, was directed against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi and the party's leadership.
Led by SAD treasurer and former Derabassi MLA N K Sharma, alongside district president Parvinder Singh Sohana, the gathering heard Mr. Sharma allege that incidents of sacrilege involving various religions began in Punjab after the AAP assumed power. He claimed the AAP was "directly involved" in these incidents, citing the Malerkotla case and stating that a Delhi-based AAP MLA, Naresh Yadav, was found guilty in connection with it.
