Six men have received prison sentences for their involvement in an arson attack on industrial units in Leyton, east London, which resulted in an estimated £1.3 million in damage. The incident, which occurred on March 20, 2024, targeted a warehouse providing aid to Ukraine and was determined by authorities to be a Russian-ordered operation.
Dylan Earl, 21, identified as the ringleader and recruited by the Wagner Group—a mercenary organization proscribed by the UK government as a terrorist entity—was sentenced to 17 years in prison. Earl admitted an offense under the National Security Act, as did Jake Reeves, 24, who received a 12-year sentence. Earl was noted for subsequently involving other men in the arson attack.
The other individuals sentenced include Nii Mensah, 23, who was jailed for 10 years for streaming the attack; Jakeem Rose, 23, sentenced to nine years for setting the buildings alight; Ugnius Asmena, 21, who arranged the getaway vehicle and was present at the scene, jailed for eight years; and Ashton Evans, 20, who received a nine-year sentence for failing to inform police about his knowledge of a planned kidnapping.
