Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan have initiated the process of cancelling their bail in numerous pending legal matters. This development follows their recent conviction and subsequent seven-year prison sentence imposed by a Rampur court on November 17, related to a case concerning the use of two PAN cards.
Joint Director, Prosecution (Rampur), Rohtash Kumar Pandey, reported that bail for Azam Khan has been revoked in nine cases, and for Abdullah Azam Khan in six cases. Azam Khan’s lawyer, Nasir Khan, confirmed that applications for bail cancellation have been filed in their pending cases, with some courts already having acted on these requests. A total of 83 cases against Azam Khan remain ongoing before various courts. His legal challenges, which began with a hate-speech case prior to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, have led to convictions in seven cases to date.
