An emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council addressed developments in Venezuela, where the United States faced condemnation for an alleged "crime of aggression." Concurrently, in Caracas, over a dozen media workers were detained on Monday. The detentions, reported by the Venezuelan press association, occurred while journalists were covering both a march in support of former president Nicolás Maduro and the swearing-in of the country’s new legislature. Protests by Maduro supporters were also reported in the capital.
