Sweden’s Alex Noren emerged victorious at the BMW PGA Championship, defeating France’s Adrien Saddier in a play-off at Wentworth Club amidst challenging weather conditions. Both golfers concluded 18 holes of regulation play tied at 19 under par, establishing a three-shot lead over the rest of the field.
This win marks Noren’s twelfth title on the DP World Tour and his second victory at Wentworth, having previously won in 2017. It is also his second win in his last three starts, following his triumph at last month’s British Masters. For Saddier, who secured his maiden tour win earlier this year, the tournament adds to a series of events where he has held significant leads, including the 36-hole and 54-hole leads at the European Masters and the Irish Open recently.
England’s Aaron Rai and former Masters champion Patrick Reed tied for third place, each finishing at 16 under par. Both players carded bogey-free rounds of 66 on the final day. Other notable performances included European Ryder Cup participants Tyrrell Hatton and Matt Fitzpatrick, who both finished at 15 under par. Fitzpatrick recorded a five-under 67, while Hatton posted a round of 72. Scotland’s Ewen Ferguson also concluded at 15 under par, despite a bogey-six on the final hole.
