Delhi recorded a significant drop in its minimum temperature on Saturday, reaching 9.7 degrees Celsius, which is 3.8 degrees below the seasonal average. This marks the first occasion the minimum temperature has fallen below 10 degrees Celsius in the capital during the current winter season. The maximum temperature for Saturday was 26.6 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees below normal.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts minimum temperatures ranging from 9-11 degrees Celsius and maximums between 24-26 degrees Celsius for Sunday, November 16. For the subsequent five days, the IMD predicts minimum temperatures between 8-12 degrees Celsius and maximums between 23-27 degrees Celsius.

Concurrently, air quality in Delhi remained a critical concern. On Sunday morning at 8 am, the Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 385, classified as 'very poor.' Similar conditions were observed on Saturday, with an AQI of 386, also falling into the 'very poor' category, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Earlier in the week, from Tuesday to Thursday, the capital experienced 'severe' air quality, with AQI readings of 428, 418, and 404 respectively. The CPCB defines an AQI of 0-50 as 'good,' 51-100 as 'satisfactory,' 101-200 as 'moderate,' 201-300 as 'poor,' 301-400 as 'very poor,' and 401-500 as 'severe.'
