The Election Commission (EC) is currently addressing reports of work-related stress affecting Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Kerala.
This action comes after an audio message gained widespread attention, alongside existing reports of BLO suicides and other fatalities across various states, which have been attributed to excessive work demands. The revision process has consequently faced criticism and generated protests from several political parties, citing concerns about its perceived rushed and non-transparent implementation.
