Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi, who has been appointed Governor of West Bengal, reflected on his 54-month tenure in Tamil Nadu as he prepares for his new role. In a three-page farewell letter written in Tamil, Governor Ravi described his time in the state as the "golden days" of his life and expressed gratitude to the people of Tamil Nadu for their affection. He stated he rejoiced in the pride of the Tamil language and the dignity of its people, citing an extensive list of Tamil poets, freedom fighters, and scholars whose legacies he found inspiring.

Governor Ravi noted that he assumed office in September 2021 when the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic were still evident. His letter also included remarks on the cultural influence of figures like Rama and Krishna across Bharat (India) and his admiration for the industriousness of the state's populace. He is scheduled to depart for West Bengal on Wednesday morning.
