The Indian Polo Association (IPA) and the Delhi Race Club (DRC) have each initiated legal proceedings in the Delhi High Court, challenging eviction notices issued by the government's Land & Development Office (L&DO).

Both sporting institutions received 15-day eviction notices in March. In the case of the IPA, which manages the Jaipur Polo Ground, the government proceeded under the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971. Following a show-cause notice on April 17, the Estate Officer rejected the IPA's objections and ordered eviction on May 20. The IPA has since appealed this order, leading the High Court to issue a notice to the government for a response within four weeks.

For the DRC, located on Kamal Ataturk Marg, an initial stay on its eviction notice was granted by Justice Pushkarna on March 25. A civil suit was disposed of in April with an understanding that the DRC would not be dispossessed without adhering to due process of law. Despite this, a fresh show-cause notice was issued by the Estate Officer on April 17. Justice Amit Sharma later issued a notice and stayed further proceedings before the Estate Officer, acknowledging the "chequered history of previous litigation." The Union government subsequently appealed against this April notice.
