Prominent reggae artist Jimmy Cliff has died at the age of 81. His wife, Latifa Chambers, announced his passing via an Instagram statement, citing a seizure followed by pneumonia as the cause. Born James Chambers in Jamaica in 1944, Cliff rose to international fame in the 1960s, playing a significant role in bringing reggae music to a global audience. His extensive catalog of hits includes tracks such as Wonderful World, Beautiful People and You Can Get It If You Really Want. Cliff was also known for his politically charged work, including the song Vietnam, which musician Bob Dylan reportedly described as "the best protest song ever written." Cliff frequently emphasized that "the essence of my music is struggle."
