Authorities in Mulbagal, Kolar district, are investigating the deaths of 37-year-old Lokesh and his daughter Niharika. Their bodies were discovered on Wednesday near a local pre-university college; Niharika's was found inside an abandoned car, and Lokesh's near a tree.
The discovery followed Lokesh having filed a missing person complaint for his wife, Navyashri, on November 4. Police reports indicate Navyashri had left a note expressing her desire to leave and requesting Lokesh care for their daughter.
Mulbagal rural police have registered a case under Section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). This action was taken based on a complaint from Venkataramappa, Lokesh's father, who alleged that Navyashri frequently quarreled with Lokesh. Police have summoned Navyashri and an individual named Murali for further questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
