The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has announced its second list of candidates for the upcoming Thiruvananthapuram Corporation local body elections, slated for 2025. This announcement, made on Thursday (November 13), includes 28 candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and three from the Bharath Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS). Notably, A. Kasturi is set to contest for the BJP in the Thycaud ward, an area currently held by the Left Democratic Front (LDF), where he will face G. Venugopal. In the Kowdiar ward, S. Madhusudhanan Nair will compete against K.S. Sabarinathan of the Congress. The NDA has also allocated one seat each to its allies Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and Kamaraj Congress, with their candidates yet to be named, and the BJP still needs to announce one candidate. With this second declaration, the alliance has now presented 98 candidates out of 101 wards in the Corporation. An initial list of candidates, featuring prominent figures such as former Director General of Police R. Sreelekha and athlete Padmini Thomas, was previously announced by BJP State president Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
