The cybercrime police station in Panchkula has reportedly arrested two individuals in connection with an alleged forex trading fraud. According to statements released by the police, the arrests follow a complaint filed by a Panchkula resident.
The complainant alleged that on July 17, they were lured into opening an account for forex trading. This reportedly involved receiving a WhatsApp link that directed them to a website, where communication with an alleged fraudster took place via a chatbox. Subsequently, the individual was allegedly defrauded of a total of Rs 5.90 lakh through multiple transactions. A case pertaining to these allegations was formally registered on September 7 at the cybercrime police station.
