Elections for Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) seats were conducted peacefully in the Alluri Sitharama Raju (ASR) and Visakhapatnam districts. Officials reported no untoward incidents during the voting process.
In ASR district, provisional figures indicated a turnout of 59.98% by 5 p.m. The Collector monitored the process and toured several polling stations. The absence of incidents in ASR district was noted as a change from previous rural body elections, which had faced security issues and boycott calls.
In Visakhapatnam district, a final turnout of 82.51% was recorded. Women cast 69,076 votes compared to 64,924 votes by men. The Collector and Joint Collector visited polling stations and monitored the process from control rooms. Counting of votes is scheduled for November 7.
