The Telangana government is set to launch a new family insurance scheme on November 19, offering a ₹5 lakh life insurance cover to all eligible families in the state. The announcement was made by Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy following a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
The application process for the scheme is scheduled to begin on November 20 and will conclude on November 30. Indiramma committees will be responsible for visiting households across the state to collect applications, with Tahsildars and gram panchayat secretaries overseeing the process.
The launch event will coincide with a public meeting in Siddipet, also marking the second phase of the Indiramma saree distribution. The Cabinet also approved other significant decisions, including the establishment of separate commissions for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, and the sanction of 136 posts for judicial institutions.
